KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE: COMBINATION AND SENSITIVE SKIN

Combination

This variety of skin is characterised by dry cheeks and an oily centre panel. The combination skin must be treated as two individual skins. See internal and external treatment as for oily and dry skin.

Sensitive Skin

A tendency to have broken capillaries is sometimes inherited. The veins tend to easily dilate, resulting in congestion under the surface of the skin. The capillaries in the skin become increasingly fragile as you get older, and many women are troubled with broken veins particularly on the nose and cheeks. The more immobile the facial muscles are, the more blood tends to collect instead of flowing through the area efficiently.

What Causes Sensitive Skin?

Over use of cosmetics, soaps and detergents, chlorinated water and excessive use of drugs, alcohol, coffee, cigarettes and spicy food. Avoid saunas, facial steam, hot water, extreme temperature changes, air conditioners and central heating.
