Guava Body Care
Guava used in body care can assist in deodorising the body, eliminating dead skin cells and as a relief for itching skin.
Body Dressing : guava oil 20 ml, guava vinegar 30 ml, essential oils-cypress 5 drops, lavender 10 drops, bergamot 10 drops. Shake all ingredients together before applying to the body.
Body Powder: guava powder 50g, arrowroot 50 g, essential oils- lavender 20 drops, bergamot 15 drops, lemongrass 15 drops Add essential oils to dry ingredients into a glass container and close the lid, leave overnight then place through a flour sieve. Keep in a sealed container and use as a deodorising powder.
Under Arm Deodorant: guava vinegar 50 ml, witch hazel 50 ml, essential oils- lavender 25 drops, lemongrass 15 drops, cypress 10 drops. Add essential oils to guava vinegar leave in a sealed bottle over night . Strain through a filter then add witch hazel. Keep in an atomiser and spray on as a natural deodorant.
Guava For Pain Relief
Compresses may be used for therapeutic applications. They can help to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation. Hot compresses are generally used to relieve chronic pain, while cold compresses are used for acute pain. Alternating hot and cold compresses is very beneficial.
Pain Relief Compresses: guava vinegar 50 ml , hot water 450 ml, essential oils – juniper 10 drops, chamomile 10 drops, rosemary 5 drops. Agitate the essential oils with other ingredients then add a cloth to mixture wring out and apply to affected area.
Pain Relief Bath: guava vinegar Vi cup, guava oil 5 ml, essential oils -juniper 4 drops, cypress 2 drops, marjoram 2 drops, lavender 2 drops.
This bath is also excellent for rheumatism and general aches and pains. The recommended bathing time is 10 to 15 minutes. To avoid evaporation of the essential oils in the mixtures it is recommended to add the oils to the bath water after filling the tub.
Pain Relief Oil: guava oil 20 ml, virgin olive oil 10 ml, essential oils -chamomile 10 drops, marjoram 10 drops, lavender 5 drops, rosemary 5 drops. Mix ingredients together and massage in to affected areas when needed. For best results use oil after guava compresses or a bath.
